Life in a Fishbowl wins top prize at Prague’s Febiofest

Life in a Fishbowl, directed by Baldvin Z, has won the top prize at the Prague International Film Festival – Febiofest in the Czech Republic. The film took part in „New Europe“, the main competition of Febiofest and was up against 11 other films. The festival ran from March 19 – 27. Baldvin Z accepted the prize at the awards ceremony on March 27.
Life in a Fishbowl has been a domestic box office success and has received enthusiastic reviews on its festival run, which has included the Toronto International Film Festival and Zurich Film Festival, where actress Hera Hilmar won a special mention. Life in a Fishbowl also won the top prize at the Nordic Film Days in Lübeck, Germany and the Tridens Award for best debut film at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia.
Furthermore, Life in a Fishbowl won the Edda Award for Feature Film of the Year. The film received 12 Eddas in total at the ceremony, this year’s festival’s highest tally and a new record at the Edda Awards, including Director of the Year, Screenplay of the Year, Actor of the Year and Actress of the Year. Life in a Fishbowl is produced by Ingvar Thórdarson and Júlíus Kemp for the Icelandic Film Company.
